As we start the new year off, many resolutions are made. Not only can you change your lifestyle you could also change your fashion style. Changing your wardrobe can help you jump start the year off right. This season there are a few key inexpensive items, that can make your whole busy life seem so much easier and can keep money in your pocket...

1. Scarves- In this season, are a whole array of different types of scarves, ranging from different styles to different colors and patterns. But one thing that they all have in common is that they are stylish and trendy. Not only can scarves look great, they can really make your outfit worth wild. Also the different scarves you choose help represent your personality, in a fun stylish way. You can spice up your outfit with any scarf, just pair it with a shirt and your on your way to improving your wardrobe. It's that easy!

2. Blazers- Blazers are a perfect piece to add variety to you closet because they can be worn anyway you want. Dress them up, or dress them down depending on the occasion. To dress up, pair with pearls,a fancy shirt and heals. Pairing with a t-shirt is a fool-proof way, on the other hand, to dress down a blazer and too look flawless in the process. There are also different styles of blazers which will help you to really find the one you like and feel comfortable in, and of course reflect your own personal style.

3. Knit Beanies-These hats are both stylish and practical, they will both help you stay warm in the cold, winter weather and are a bold fashion statement. Pair it with anything you like, these hats will always make you look good.They are also very affordable like the hat on the left ( $6 at Forever 21).

4. Pea Coats- Everywhere I turn I see a new variety of the average pea coat. But this season, pea coats have taken a new turn for the better. Now having different extravagant buttons, embroidering, and new patterns and colors, they have evolved greatly from what they formerly were. These coats are not only for style but the ones I have seen and have tried on are really comfy. My pick for a good place to find a nice pea coat would be Forever 21.

5. Suede Boots- These boots, like the boots on the left are very in this season because of three reasons. One, they affordable, two, they are stylish and three, they go with just about any outfit. These boots have replaced Uggs, because they are new, hip, and more mature than the former fashion craze.

6.Handbags- Does the winter weather have you down? I know it does for me. But fortunately this season brings whole new color to your accessories. Instead of the old, plain, dark handbags for winter, there are now bright colorful, handbags made to take all your winter blues away. There are new designs that are vibrant and make winter seem like spring is already here. So if your like me and don't like the winter, I suggest not only getting a colorful handbag, but also filling your whole wardrobe with vibrant color.

7.Moccasins- These simple shoes can be worn with any outfit, they are affordable and EXTREMELY comfortable. As shown below there is fur inside, and even from looking at the picture you can tell they are extremely inviting. (Shoes shown $25 from Payless-American Eagle brand.)

8. Peace Necklaces- The seventies are back. The new trend has millions living back in the 1970s for the new year. There are so many types of peace necklaces and other accessories that incorporate the peace sign into it. These necklaces are a simple way to make a outfit look fun and make you look groovy!


9. YOU- This New Year don't be afraid to be yourself, and wear and create your own trends. Be a trendsetter for all your friends, and don't be scared to stray away from the crowd if and only if you stick to your own personal style, that represents who you are.

Fashion is a way of expression...

Every day all of us wake up and make a very important choice, what to wear that day. To some this might not seem a very important thing in life because the way you look is not everything, but fashion is a way to express yourself for who you really are. Like the way an artist might express himself or herself through artwork, people choose to express themselves through clothing. Not only is fashion a form of artistic expression but its also fun!

Some people might think that fashion is just going with the trends, but it is much more than that. Different people dress in their own ways to show that they are unique and different than every one else. Fashion shows individuality and being able to go away from the crowd. Even though there are trends in the fashion world it is exciting and adventurous to get these key items and change them according to your style, and maybe, if you’re very daring, start some new fashion trends of your own and make a statement. I dress according to the way I feel on a particular day. If I'm happy, I go with bright colors and pastels;on my bad days, I tend to lean towards dark colors and earth tones. I like to buy trendy, must-have items, but then accessorize and make my own.

Fashion can be fun; you can enjoy putting different pieces of clothing together and mixing and matching. Before you get dressed you are like a blank canvas, you can choose how to paint the canvas according to what you put on. The paints and colors you choose are what make the picture unique to you and only you. It’s entertaining to try to find distinctive combinations of clothes and in the end you might get great pleasure out of it, because of the fact that you have created a work of art.

The right clothes on the right person can provide them with self-confidence and make them feel good. This is because they will feel happy and good in their own skin, or technically in this case, there own clothes. If I don't feel too good about myself one day, a good outfit can change my attitude completely and make me feel better about myself as a person.

The expression that comes from clothing is everlasting. Without fashion some people might not be able to express themselves. If someone is not an artist, or a writer, or a singer and so on, how would they be able to show their uniqueness and show their thoughts, emotions, and style? Fashion allows someone to dress up how they want to and feel good doing so, in showing who they really are. Also it’s always fun to find different outfits that make you comfortable, happy and look good. So even though fashion might not come off as the most important thing in life it is important to express yourself and therefore clothing and the way you choose to dress yourself is indeed important.
