Every day all of us wake up and make a very important choice, what to wear that day. To some this might not seem a very important thing in life because the way you look is not everything, but fashion is a way to express yourself for who you really are. Like the way an artist might express himself or herself through artwork, people choose to express themselves through clothing. Not only is fashion a form of artistic expression but its also fun!
Some people might think that fashion is just going with the trends, but it is much more than that. Different people dress in their own ways to show that they are unique and different than every one else. Fashion shows individuality and being able to go away from the crowd. Even though there are trends in the fashion world it is exciting and adventurous to get these key items and change them according to your style, and maybe, if you’re very daring, start some new fashion trends of your own and make a statement. I dress according to the way I feel on a particular day. If I'm happy, I go with bright colors and pastels;on my bad days, I tend to lean towards dark colors and earth tones. I like to buy trendy, must-have items, but then accessorize and make my own.
Fashion can be fun; you can enjoy putting different pieces of clothing together and mixing and matching. Before you get dressed you are like a blank canvas, you can choose how to paint the canvas according to what you put on. The paints and colors you choose are what make the picture unique to you and only you. It’s entertaining to try to find distinctive combinations of clothes and in the end you might get great pleasure out of it, because of the fact that you have created a work of art.
The right clothes on the right person can provide them with self-confidence and make them feel good. This is because they will feel happy and good in their own skin, or technically in this case, there own clothes. If I don't feel too good about myself one day, a good outfit can change my attitude completely and make me feel better about myself as a person.
The expression that comes from clothing is everlasting. Without fashion some people might not be able to express themselves. If someone is not an artist, or a writer, or a singer and so on, how would they be able to show their uniqueness and show their thoughts, emotions, and style? Fashion allows someone to dress up how they want to and feel good doing so, in showing who they really are. Also it’s always fun to find different outfits that make you comfortable, happy and look good. So even though fashion might not come off as the most important thing in life it is important to express yourself and therefore clothing and the way you choose to dress yourself is indeed important.

hey vicky. i really like how you think of fashion. sounds stupid when i put it like that, but i never thought of fashion that way. of course, i knew it was a way of expression, but you add a more artistic appeal to it.
ReplyDeleteThere are two little things that you could improve upon. One of them is grammar, and there were two example of this.
"Different people dress in different ways to show that they are unique than every one else" I think you meant something along the lines of they're unique, different than anyone else. Then there was also, "For me I dress according to the way I feel on a particular day. If I'm happy I go with bright colors and pastels and on my bad days I tend to lean towards dark colors and earth tones." In this you simply forgot commas. "For me, ..." "If I'm happy, ..." "On my bad days, ..." and, to make things flow more smoothly, you could put a semicolon between the good day and the bad day.

I really liked your fashion blog!!! I thought you explained your topic very well. There was one error that I noticed:"Like the way an might artist express himself or herself through artwork," other than this little mistake I enjoyd it very much. I really liked how you described fashion as the artist painting a canvas, I thought it was very unique!

Clearly you write with the passion of one who has not been given a proper voice or platform. It's time fashion gets the respect it deserves!

Use a semicolon to separate two independent clauses, which can stand on their own as complete sentences. "Every day all of us wake up and make a very important choice; what to wear that day" A semicolon won't work here because the second half can't stand on its own. Now here you could use one: "Fashion can be fun, you can enjoy putting different pieces of clothing together and mixing and matching."
Too overblown: "The expression that comes from clothing is everlasting. Without fashion some people might not be able to express themselves." How might you criticize that statement?
Do you need "for me" here?: "For me, I dress according to the way I feel on a particular day."
Next time end on a succinct statement, and not "So even though fashion might not come off as the most important thing in life it is important to express yourself and therefore clothing and the way you choose to dress yourself is indeed important.
